It has taken me a looooong while to come up with more of these. This is what I do with my time here when, in all reality, I should be working on my homework. Who does homework? School is for FOOLS!!! So here we go!
I don't wear my glasses...I should. I see the numbers 3,5,6,and 9 all as 8. This does not bode well for me especially since I sit on the last row during church.
My feet are EXTREMELY ticklish.
My parents knew I was up to no good so my dad called me to see if he could get me to confess about something (I told them I was going out of town with some friends when really I was intending to meet up with a guy)...I ended up confessing to something COMPLETELY different (getting a reckless driving ticket in his car).
I don't read Shakespeare...he's kinda boring but I do love sonnet 116. Every time I read it I have to do so in an English accent.

"Ain't That A Kick in the Head" by Dean Martin will be on my wedding video.
I wanted to be a Librarian at one point in my life...I kinda still do.

No wonder a lot of guys have great confidence, they grew up admiring G.I. Joe and all the super heroes, us girls are self conscious because we had Barbie and Skipper...screw you Barbie.
When I was younger I could make the best cat sounds. I knew I was good when I slammed the cat's tail in the door and after it freaked out and screeched Stef yelled "MO! SHUT UP!!!"
My favorite saying is "Shake and shake the ketchup bottle, none will come and then a lot'll"

I have 3 freckles on my knee that look like Orion's Belt.

The result is 1 reckless driving ticket, 4 speeding tickets, suspended license, my dad almost being kicked off his insurance because I was on his policy, me voluntarily surrendering my license, and not driving on my mission for 18 months. BUT, there were a lot of hot cops that I met.

Well, hopefully this does it for a while. I'm starting to run out of things to tell everyone. I get home in 17 days. See you soon
Only 7 weeks left. Life is The Cove is incredible. If they had a few more things to do here I would be tempted to stay forever. But, alas NADA...unless you count memorizing the houses and the people I pass with their dogs at the same time every morning on my walk to work something then my social schedule is chuck full every day. I have come to the conclusion that people really do start to look like their dogs.
I swear I pass her every single day right at 9:40. She's not much of a talker. She's usually seen with this lady and her dog:
I know what you're thinking. You probably had the same hair do once or twice in your life. I know I did. I was forced to get a perm when my hair was already short enough. You should check out my All-Star softball picture when I was 6. Lady number 2's hair do on my head topped with a HUGE white bow...Yeah I looked Bad A**...
My comings and goings here in The Cove have consisted of waking up, walk to work, work, walk home from work, take another walk, and if I decide to bypass homework (usually I do) then I know there is a guaranteed America's Funniest Home Videos episode on in the living room. I don't know what it is but I never get tired of watching people get hit in the crotch and apparently Uncle Dennis doesn't either. We have so much in common. I don't think he'd like Family Guy though.
You may all be wondering (all 5 of you who actually read this blog) how my progress is...progressing? That sentence doesn't even make sense. I'll tell you this. If you were to make 2 fat suits: 1 at my weight when I came to The Cove and the second one at my weight now...the second one would be lighter. No, I'm not going to tell you yet! Who do you think I am? Did you ever watch the Swan? They didn't tell you what was going on until AFTER you saw the transformation (I think thats how it went, I never really watched the show, I was probably watching Family Guy). I'll say this though, I am proud of myself. I never thought I could accomplish the things that I have or that I was capable of the things that I am doing. That is All I will tell you! Don't bank on a lot more than that for the next 7 weeks. I'm not going to go all Heidi on you though (Montag that is, I wouldn't mind going Heidi Klum on ya).
As far as exciting things to tell you, I got nothin'. Life is the same. The Branch here is crazy and so far I've only had to speak once...now that I said that I'll probably have to speak again soon...I might as well just prepare a talk tonight so I have one ready for Sunday...what am I saying, I'll wait til Sunday morning. Anyways, not to fear, Glimpse 3 is on its way. Any ideas for a title??? Glimpse 3: When Nature Calls? ( it would be appropriate due to the fact that the weekly cleanses make the need for a lightning sprint to the bathroom VERY necessary.)
I was thinking about sequel titles to name the sequel to my "Glimpse" post and for some reason "Glimpse 2: Pig in the City" didn't set well with me so I decided to go with the Love Bug. Sorry Baby, Herbie wins again.
I decided to do a Part 2 because after part 1 I really wanted to find out more about myself and see what else I could come up with. This is just as much for you as it is for me. I think it wise for you to do it too, you'd be amazed at how many things you find out about yourself or you remember about yourself. Remember, you asked for it when you came to my blog!!! So, if you are ready, read ahead to find out more about me!
My usual at taco bell WAS: 2 bean burritos with green sauce and sour cream, doused with Fire sauce. I say WAS because they no longer make green sauce. It totally blows and throws off my entire day.

I love wearing high heels. I usually don't wear them because I am already tall enough. I should just wear them and not care right?
I have to hug something when I am falling asleep at night. Add this to my other annoying habits such as: Wiggling one foot, listening to music, and the need for a fan going to prevent "Stale Air", my poor future husband is S.O.L...except for the hugging part, that is in his favor.

Some of my other favorite quotes are: "Cherish your solitude. Take trains by yourself to places you have never been. Sleep out alone under the stars. Learn how to drive a stick shift.Go so far away that you stop being afraid of not coming back. Say no if you don't want to do something, say yes if your instincts are strong, even if everyone around you disagrees. Decide whether you want to be liked or admired. Decide if fitting in is more important than finding out what you're doing here. Believe in kissing." And: "In life sometimes everything falls into place and sometimes everything just falls to pieces. I wish I could sing like Janis Joplin or Pink.

There you have it. Maybe more than you want but now you know a little more about me.
Well, I’m still here as well as the seals (which I have named Fat Joe, Seal Like the Singer Seal -SLTSS for short-, and Rafael). I have come to the conclusion that I’ve done all there is to do here now I just have to do it over and over again just in different ways. Also, I have seriously racked up an iTunes bill. There isn’t anything here to spend my money on so I feel a whole lot less guilty buying stuff on iTunes and so what was my first purchase when I moved here??? You guessed it. XANADU!!!!! Does life get any better??? NO!!! There is something about Olivia Newton John and Gene Kelly on roller skates that makes me happy. If you haven’t seen it, SEE IT!! You can thank me later.
I wish I looked like her...especially the feathery hair but alas I don't...When I wake up in the morning and look in the mirror I see a small resemblance of the following...
MARLA HOOCH....HOOCH
THE CRAZY LADY FROM SNOW WHITE
AND YES.....
Don't tell me you can't see the resemblance between me and Zach G...sunglasses and everything . Damn, these hormones!! Needless to say I'm not taking my mornings very well. The frogs sing me to sleep every night so I should be plenty rested right?? WRONG!!! Maybe its the creepy fountain outside my window that keeps me up at night!
Yes he is peeing...what I love most is that the deer is drinking from the pee trough...makes me chuckle every time. Honestly though, who in the world would place a fountain of a little boy peeing in their yard??? Was it so they could relish moments like these?? Don't worry everyone this is NOT in Dennis and Diane's yard although I'm sure they wish it was....not really.
Well my body has certainly seen some rough days out here. I have some MONSTER blisters on my heels from walking so I'm sporting the thongs now (ok I had to say it) I meant flip flops. I'll spare you the pictures but they are gnarly! My forehead is so oily morning, noon, and night from the moisture in the air you could draw a picture in it like you drawing a picture in the sand and everything from the waist down is sore...but a good sore...I'm not phrasing this right I know...and I know how all of our minds wander... its from walking people!! But the good thing is that in the last 15 days that I have been here I have lost 20 pounds!!!! Its working!!! So like Mel said "Save your pennises and we'll go shopping when you get back!!"(yes you read that right!!) I can't wait!! Let us see what the next 2 weeks bring shall we??? We Shall!
I came home from work the other day to find this scene in the front yard....
Yes, those are convicts and yes they are swinging axes around chopping wood. So now I had the creepy fountains and the Paul Bunyon jailbirds to put me to sleep at night. Other than those two things life is pretty good here. You'll all be shocked but I am cooking some yummy stuff here. Like cooking as in using the oven cooking and measuring stuff and using knives to chop stuff. I know I know, first I'm a housekeeper, now I'm cooking, next I'll be playing the piano...wait a second...they made me play piano in SACRAMENT!!! Yes, I was just as shocked and yes that was the same day I had to speak too. Welcome to the branch! So peel yourselves up off the floor and get your food storage ready because the Apocalypse must be just around the corner. I love you all and miss you!
Alright 1 week down!! This place is AMAZING!!!! I love it! But one thing I don’t love is cleansing. The last 2 days we have been doing “The Cleanse”. It is more of a serious roto rooter to the colon plus a kick in the butt! I finally get to eat so here I am gnawin’ on pickles “mmmmmmm…..pickles….” BUT, I am seriously jonesin’ for some Taco Bell right now, their Volcano Burrito is heavenly…and 800 calories…so from now on if I get one I’ll have to cut it into fourths and eat it over the course of a 4 days…we all make sacrifices…it sucks but I suppose it’s a good thing. Aunt Diane wasn’t lying when she said there is nothing to do here. There really isn’t ANYTHING to do here unless I’m a surfer which I am not so I guess I’ll have to take it up. I go down and talk to the seals (My Little Poopsies) on a regular basis (no…I really do talk to them) I bet they get bored but they are so dang cute how they just sit there and stare at you and sit up on the rocks where the sharks can't get them!! The beach is pretty awesome and I love the huge waves (which I have to run from. They sneak up on ya fast). Good news is my camera is getting a TON of use! Have I mentioned how much I love it?? Thanks Brods!!
No Earthquakes yet thank heavens. Thought I felt one earlier but it really was just someone walking across the deck, it freaked me out, I was running for a door frame…k not really but I was about to. There isn’t really anywhere to spend money here so I just keep rackin’ up the dough from working my booty off at the Inn, I have a serious new found respect for housekeepers. Its hard work. The good thing is I get a good workout from it but my buns don't feel nothing like steel...yet...who know maybe if I gain some muscle back there I will actually have a butt. A girl can dream. Any suggestions for cool gifts for Dennis and Diane??? I haven’t come up with anything cool yet but I’m thinking.
Here I am at camp “Putdownadaforka” aka the Harper Fat Camp aka Uncle Dennis and Aunt Diane’s house. I have thrown in the towel and am admitting that I will not be able to lose my extra poundage on my own and they have stepped up to this HUGE challenge to help me get healthy. I’m not quite sure they know what they are getting themselves into…
Day 1
Wednesday, July 7th
Yesterday was insane. Between packing, laundry, shopping, saying my goodbyes, and pizza night it was a little busy… I never knew packing could take so long. I didn’t think it would be so time consuming but lets consider what I usually pack for getaways.
Swimming Suit…check
Tank Tops…check
Board shorts…check
A towel for good measure…check
This trip will be a bit more involved. I had to pack my entire livelihood in two suitcases and a carry-on…not an easy task, but I did it amazingly.
Pizza night was fantastic as usual when Rocky brought to my attention that it would be my “Last Supper”…CRAP. Here I am thinking ‘Oh, this is sooooo good!’ when it dawned on me “ Well, Shi Sherriff, I’m not going to be able to eat pizza for 3 MONTHS!!!” so I stuffed another piece in just to be sure to have no regrets. Lucky for me and my diet there isn’t a Taco Bell within a 100 mile radius of Shelter Cove.
After saying my goodbyes and cleaning I sat down and picked up “The Hunger Games”. Not a good idea. Awesome book. I tried to finish it but much to my dismay was not able to and woke up at 5:30 the next morning with 100 pages left. I won’t be able to finish it until October! Sad day.
Not only was I awake at 5:30 AM, I had to actually move and think at 5:30 AM. Not a good combination for me (at any time of day really.) Through a series of car rides and flights I finally got to San Francisco only to fear for my life for 5 more hours while Dennis drove Diane and I home. You all thought I was a crazy driver??? This man was taking turns (hairpins mind you) going 40 in an Escalade. I thought it was fun actually. Diane didn’t. We finally arrived and met the ocean under a blanket of fog and a bright orange horizon. I’ve seen some incredible sights in my time but this was amazing. I fell asleep last night listening to the waves crashing on the rocks in a bed that felt like I was sleeping on a cloud…I could for sure get used to this…fast.
Well the last few months have been completely psycho. Decisions have been made, vacations have been taken and planned, people close to me have passed away, and I have come to the realization that one day I'm going to have to move out of my brother's house and have my own house or apartment, probably an apartment, that I will have to clean and pay for and decorate...I'm only really looking forward to the decoration part...but hopefully this day will not be for a while.
Lets discuss the whole "Decisions have been made" bit. During the summer all three of my current jobs will be on hiatus. School will be on summer vacation so there goes 2 of my jobs and Mrs. C's is pretty slow so I don't go back to work there til the holidays at the end of the year. Here is the decision I have made; we all know that for years and years I have fought relentlessly (kind of) with my close friend Ethel (aka my gut) so I have made the not so hard decision to do something drastic. No I'm not talking about surgery...heaven's no...I'm a chicken....and I really don't think it will help. What I am talking about is attending my own Biggest Loser fat camp. Camp Putdownadaforka! I will be moving to Shelter Cove, California to live with my Uncle Dennis and Aunt Diane...if anyone wants to lose weight these are the people to go to. I will be living with them for 3 months starting the week after the 4th of July and whilst there I will do my best to break off this relationship with my stomach. My Aunt Diane informed me that there is NOTHING to do in this town...its a small fisherman village...so what else would I have to do besides exercise and do my online schooling? It will be interesting. I just think how often will I have this opportunity to have so much time off from work and to have the resources (thank you financial aide)? So, I'm a little anxious to get out there. I only have 2 months to wait then its off to the coast to bask in the sun and sweat my guts out. All is well, my aunt and uncle live close to a fire station...we all know how I love the firemen!!!
Vacations have been taken and been planned that is for sure! I was able to fly out to Indiana to visit my sister Stef and her family before they fly off to yet another state besides Utah. Indianapolis is a pretty cool city. We went and saw John Dillinger's grave and stole money from him (if you know who this guy is its pretty funny when you think about it) we also went to the art museum which I LOVED!!! I tried sushi for the first time and I never thought I would like it as much as I did...I was amazed that something that is not cooked could be so delicious. Stef took me around the city looking for Peyton Manning's house to no avail. Sad day. I'll post some pictures of our adventures. The best part of course was being able to hang out with my niece Indy and nephew Trace. I am so lucky to have the cutest nieces and nephews ever and unlike every other child in my life I don't have to worry about spoiling them and getting after them. I love them, every last one of them! I'm looking forward to the rest of the years vacations! Of course the family trip to Lake Powell. I can just feel the scorching sun burn right now...and I never tan...ever...white, red, white, red, white, red. Never any brownness. San Fransisco!!! I can't wait to see Camille in all her prego-ness! Long drive out there for 4 days of complete fun and WICKED!!! I can't wait to go see Wicked! I hear its awesome! I'm going with the funnest people...again thank you financial aide!!! More Lake Powell after I get home from fat camp in October, this time its the adult trip meaning more irresponsibility and this time not all of it is coming from me! Now I have my uncles and Brent to influence me!! After LP, I'm hopping on a plane for my first ever flight across the ocean...alone??????!!!!! What am I thinking???? I'm already a little antsy when it comes to flying...now why am I doing it on my own? and across an OCEAN??? I saw Castaway...and Lost...but I also saw Swiss Family Robinson and am confident in my bamboo carpentry...that is if we actually land on an uninhabited island but what are the chances of that??? Now between all of these adventures I am clearing a weekend to spend in St. George to enlist the help of my dear, sweet, crazy sister to make me over...maybe no one will recognize me after. I made a trip out to Wendover! I picked up Amos at (what seemed to be ) the butt crack of dawn and we made the short but boring drive out to the stateline to play in the desert! My friend Dave had an off road race and totally kicked some trash and took some names!!! I as well did when I sat down to play a good game of Tigeress on the penny machines. Who knew that putting in four 1 dollar bills would be so beneficial...I can now understand why people get addicted to gambling... I turned quite the profit...$431 worth of profit...it was a good day! Not to mention playing out on the salt flats with Amos and getting stuck in the mud! I was a good day!
Yes, sadly people close to me have passed away. Last week my Aunt Warda (Wanda) passed away. I miss her so much but was fortunate enough to talk to her a week before. Warda was somebody I never thought was going to pass away...I thought she would always be with us for some reason...I have now learned not to take people for granted. I don't think Warda knew just how many people loved her! I am so thankful for her and everything that she has done for me and my brothers and sisters and cousins!!! We were all so lucky to have "Yellow Hands"!!!
As for my revelation related to my living situation...the time will soon come when my mooching will come to an end. I promise I don't mean to mooch...I pay rent so its not really mooching...but I have it really good! Anyways so here I am thinking "Well crap, one day I'm going to have my own house so therefore I'm going to have my own stuff...like furniture and stuff..." so again I have resorted to mooching asking Mel and Steph if they ever want to get rid of their dining room tables (I doubt it they are totally cute) that I will buy it from them!!! Geez, it will never end! So I am still on the long road to growing up...I have a feeling I never will...
